Massage After A Car Accident
If your body still isn’t back to normal after the crash, we need to talk.
The ER cleared you.
The X-rays came back clean.
You were told to rest, to stretch, maybe to ice it.
But weeks or months later, your body still doesn’t feel right.
Maybe your neck locks up every time you look over your shoulder. Maybe your back tightens up during long drives. Maybe your jaw is clenched all the time, or your sleep is shallow, or you’re just tired of telling people “I’m fine” when you’re not.
Pain from a car accident doesn’t always show up right away. And it rarely goes away on its own.
You don’t have to settle for a “normal” that feels worse than before
Most of our clients come to us months after their accident, still feeling off and still getting vague answers.
At Movement Improvement Massage, we specialize in helping people understand what actually changed in their body after the impact. We don’t guess. We listen, we assess, and we apply targeted manual therapy that’s built to reset patterns, not just chase pain.

Movement Improvement Massage 156 Google reviewsPosted on Terrie Durand Josh Pugh of Movement Improvement is a gift to those who suffer from chronic pain. He goes above & beyond when dealing with clients with different ailments. On my visit today I went in in severe pain. I wanted to cry as he started working. By the end of my session, I was relieved from the majority of my pain. Thank you so much for your services Josh.Posted on Aspen Mallery I left this empty originally, but with their recent response I think this deserves context. I originally came to these guys for pain management from a chronic immunological issue. They were the only ones taking OHP at the time with some open availability. The staff were friendly at first-- almost too much so. The therapists would also talk the *entire* time during the massage, making it too difficult to relax. Yes I had missed an appointment and they wanted to bill me $90 which I did not have at the time. I was broke, had no car, and unemployed due to my ailments. Around a year later, I received a small inheretence. I called back to repay my debt and reschedule but I was turned down. This company does not have the best interest of the customer in mind. They do not concern themselves with individualized conditions. They do not want you to get better. They simple care about their business and profits. I have family who work within this industry and they all know this way too well. It is the irony of the American healthcare system. I found much better treatment through specialized medication management. I have a well paying job, and reliable vehicle, and finally stablized my condition. This place let me down when I needed the help. This is not what good health care professionals do.Posted on Devin Cogdill My first massage here was good, but unfortunately my experience since then has been disappointing. I missed an appointment in March because I had been struggling with Gastroparesis for several months and was hospitalized at the time. I called the night before to cancel and left a message, but I missed their return call during the appointment time. What I didn’t realize was that this would apparently “disqualify” me from returning. I only found out today, months later, when I logged into my account and saw that my profile name had been changed to “Do not book.” I understand businesses need to manage cancellations, but I would expect some level of compassion and professionalism.... especially when health emergencies are involved. At the very least, a direct conversation would have been appropriate. Changing my name in their system to “Do not book” is not only unprofessional but also incredibly disrespectful.Posted on Shana Marie S. My massage therapist, Michael Nash, is a “Gift” to anyone in need of healing and pain relief. Michael is very caring and nurturing and is by far the best massage therapist I have ever worked with. I am so thankful to have found Michael and I will schedule with him again and again. Just a wonderful person. I highly recommend.Posted on Catherine Cox Josh is fantastic! I was on vacation with two ribs out of place, in considerable pain. He worked me into his schedule and fixed me. What a relief! I have been pain-free ever since. Thank you Josh!Posted on Skin Shrimp Absolutely incredible staff. Kaylyn was able to provide headache relief that I didn't even know was possible. Her knowledge clearly comes from years of specialized training in pain‑management massage. You Rock! Thank you so much. o.OPosted on Cachet Kirby I always enjoy coming in for my massage and seeing Jana and Sierra up front. Everyone is very kind and welcoming! Mike the massage therapist is great and I notice a lot of improvements in my overall health and wellbeing since I've started my massages. If you're looking for a nice place with great people and awesome massage therapists give them a try!Posted on Em Abe was great!! Would highly rec.
We Accept PIP (Personal Injury Protection) For Massage
In Oregon, most auto insurance policies include PIP coverage, which may pay for your massage therapy after a motor vehicle accident — typically with a referral from your provider.
If you’re not sure what you’re covered for, we’ll help you find out. We’ll also help you handle the claims and coordinate with your auto insurer for the care you need.
Symptoms You Might Still Be Living With
Even if the accident was months ago, you might still be dealing with:
Neck tightness, whiplash, or limited rotation
Low back tension that shows up with standing or sitting
Jaw pain, grinding, or headaches
Sleep issues or fatigue
Muscle guarding or “on edge” feeling in your nervous system
These are signs your body is still compensating for trauma. Our work is built to help you come out of that pattern and regain control.
